Facilities & Building Supervisor

As the Facilities & Buildings Supervisor, you'll lead the administration, staffing, and hands-on maintenance of designated City-owned facilities and buildings. This role ensures safe, clean, and well-maintained public spaces while supporting reliable operations and the long-term sustainability of municipal assets. This position requires flexibility to be available evenings and weekends as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs for facilities, mechanical systems, building automation and security/alarm systems.
• Supervise staffing and labour including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations and discipline.  Lead a safety-focused culture adhering to OH&S regulations
• Prepare budget information, monitor expenditures, manage equipment reserve funds and assist with capital/renewal project planning per City purchasing policies.
• Support facilities crew leads on after-hours call-out rotation
• Investigate and resolve public complaints via the Citys Request for Service system and model the Citys core values

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Facility Management, Building Operations, or related field with certification and courses relevant to: Refrigeration Engineer Certificate, Firemans Certificate, Level 1 Pool Operators Certificate, Level I Arena Operators Certificate and Occupational Health and Safety Level 1 and 2 Certificates.
• Two years experience related to the operation and maintenance of arenas, pools, and recreation and public facilities and Two years experience in a supervisory role.
• Class 5 Drivers License.
• Experience in building trades, a journeyman certificate in refrigeration, electrical or mechanical is an asset.
• Experience with Windows based systems and various Microsoft Office programs.
