About this role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Calibration & Metrology Technician to take ownership of the day-to-day calibration program and support the development of an in-house dimensional laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and perform calibration and verification of production measuring equipment.
Maintain accurate calibration records, equipment identification and due dates.
Calibrate and verify thread plug and ring gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and other dimensional equipment.
Investigate out-of-tolerance gauges and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
Maintain measurement traceability and calibration documentation.
Support measurement methods, uncertainty evaluation and laboratory procedures.
Support the development of a future ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation program.
Assist with planning and implementing laboratory equipment, gauge storage and environmental controls.
Required Qualifications
Grade 12 with relevant industrial measurement and calibration experience.
Technical training in dimensional metrology, precision measurement or a related field.
Hands-on calibration experience with a strong understanding of measurement systems, traceability and precision dimensional equipment.
Strong understanding of dimensional measurement and gauge management.
Ability to document technical procedures and maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications
2-year Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology diploma.
Precision Measurement/Metrology training or additional calibration and measurement uncertainty training.
Experience with calibration standards and traceability.
Experience in an accredited calibration laboratory is an asset.
