Building Service Worker - 3

What You'll Do

•     Respond to requests from tenants for in-unit repairs in a timely manner
•     Assess the reported issue and determine the type of repair and supplies required
•     Minor carpentry, plumbing, heating, and other miscellaneous repairs.
•     Respond to emergency building issues such as flooding and heat
•     Basic maintenance repairs to common areas including changing lightbulbs, unclogging toilets and minor drywall repair
•     Preventative maintenance and testing as outlined in Regina Housing preventative maintenance plan
•     Determine facility and equipment needs or problems and coordinate solutions with the appropriate members of the Maintenance team
•     Snow removal for all properties as necessary
•     Interact with tenants, contractors, and other staff members in a positive, professional, and sensitive manner.

What You Need

• Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance and repair, or a suitable combination of education and experience
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English
• Comfortable using technology and able to learn mobile applications and various digital tools related to daily job duties
• Extensive knowledge of general facility repairs including plumbing and carpentry, as well as hand and power tools and related safety protocols
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and twist as necessary
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs, infrequently lift 50+ lbs, occasionally lift over 100 lbs with assistance

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
