Horizontal Directional Driller

Subterra HDD is hiring an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller to join our team.

We offer competitive wages, overtime opportunities, living-out allowance, and long weekends and holidays off. Applicants must be willing to travel throughout Saskatchewan and work extended hours (12+ hours/day). Projects within the next year + are located within 1 hour of Regina, SK.

Responsibilities

• Operate HDD equipment to complete underground utility installations
• Plan and execute drilling operations, including pilot bores, reaming and product pullbacks
• Monitor drilling conditions and make adjustments as required
• Mix and maintain drilling fluids and complete tooling changes
• Set up, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot drilling equipment
• Assist with equipment mobilization and site preparation
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
• Follow safe work practices and participate in all required HSE activities

Qualifications

• Previous HDD operating experience required
• Experience with Ditch Witch JT4020 drills and Digi-Trak F5 locating systems an asset
• Valid Class 5 license and clean driver's abstract; Class 1A preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• First Aid/CPR-C, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance II, SCOT, WHMIS/TDG and Pipeline Construction Safety Training (or equivalent) preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
