Who we are…
The French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) is dedicated to supporting and empowering departments to serve and inform Yukoners in French. We foster strong partnerships with other departments and stakeholders, provide strategic advice rooted in language policy and planning, and offer centralized services such as translation and language training.
The Bilingual Communications Division supports government employees in informing, engaging with and promoting bilingual services to the public. We provide centralized translation services and manage the government’s French-language official social media channels and web presence.
The opportunity…
The French Language Services Directorate is seeking a collaborative and solution-focused project lead to support the development of a government-wide strategy for strengthening bilingual communications, with a particular emphasis on emergency preparedness and response.
In this role, you will work with colleagues across government to better understand current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop a more coordinated approach to bilingual communications. You will bring people together, facilitate discussions, build consensus, and help turn ideas into practical solutions.
You will also lead procurement processes, manage contracts, and oversee the work of external service providers supporting the project. You will gather and analyze information, develop recommendations, and support decision-making to advance project objectives.
In addition, you will support the Directorate in coordinating and preparing a variety of materials, including reports, presentations, speeches, and other documents that communicate government priorities and vision.
