In this role, you will
- lead a team of metallurgical technologists by arranging training, coaching employees, and completing or assigning projects and sample analysis.
- be accountable for all assay results and overall lab performance.
- manage lab equipment by ordering parts, managing service contracts, scheduling service techs, planning installation work, requesting quotes for new instrumentation, and justifying equipment purchases.
- administer quality assurance and quality control programs.
- perform lab analysis work while driving continuous improvement efforts in the lab.
- work with metallurgists to design and execute test work.
Required
- Diploma in laboratory technology or bioscience technology;
- Five to eight years of relevant work experience;
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- Excellent troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills;
- Proficient in all Microsoft Offices suite programs; and
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended
- Leadership training;
- Previous SAP and LIMS software experience;
- Experience in leading a team in a lab environment; and
- Experience working at an underground mine site.
