Service Manager (Motorcoach Fleet)

Charlies Charters is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, safety, and operational readiness of the company's motorcoach fleet. This role manages technicians, vendors, maintenance schedules, and compliance programs to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and available to meet customer service commitments. The Service Manager works closely with operations, dispatch, and drivers to minimize downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain maintenance schedules based on mileage, engine hours, manufacturer recommendations, and regulatory requirements for our fleet of motorcoaches, shuttle vans, and company vehicles.
• Monitor fleet condition and make recommendations regarding vehicle replacement, refurbishment, and capital expenditures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Negotiate with parts suppliers, repair vendors, and equipment providers to control costs and maintain quality service.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage parts procurement to support efficient operations.
• Work closely with dispatch and operations personnel to ensure fleet availability for scheduled charter services.
• May be asked to perform basic/minor repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Required: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
• Required: Strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
• Preferred: 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience, preferably in motorcoach, commercial bus, trucking, or transportation environments.
• Preferred: Valid drivers license with an air brake endorsement.
