About this role
PWM Hydraulics is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support workplace health and safety across our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with Saskatchewan OHS legislation, identify and control hazards, promote safe work practices, and improve our safety program.
- *Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the company health and safety program and support OHS compliance.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments.
Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative measures.
Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and maintain documentation.
Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
Coordinate safety orientations, training, certifications, and records.
Support PPE programs and safety equipment, emergency supplies, and first aid resources.
Work with the Occupational Health Committee and employees to address safety concerns.
Assist with emergency preparedness and drills.
Monitor OHS legislation and recommend improvements.
Promote a strong safety culture and provide safety guidance.
- *Qualifications:

Previous occupational health and safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environments.
Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan OHS legislation and workplace safety practices.
Current First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain.
Experience with inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
OHS education/certification preferred.
WHMIS, incident investigation, and OHC training are assets.
