About this role
land, direct, and evaluate the daily retail operations of the convenience store, liquor section, and fuel station.
Manage staff across all departments and assign daily duties, including cash handling, stocking, and fuel monitoring.
Determine the specific merchandise to be sold (such as fuel, liquor, tobacco, and convenience items), and implement appropriate pricing and credit policies.
Source and negotiate with vendors and wholesale suppliers to procure merchandise for resale at the best possible price.
Plan operating budgets, authorize expenditures for store supplies, and monitor daily revenues from fuel, liquor, and convenience sales.
Evaluate and improve customer service standards and respond directly to customer requests or complaints.
Study market research and local trends to determine consumer demand and assess the effect of local competitors' operations on your sales.
Develop and implement local marketing strategies to drive store traffic and increase sales.
Address all staffing requirements, which includes the recruitment, hiring, training, development, and retention of store employees.
Ensure the establishment complies with all provincial regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products (e.g., adhering to Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority rules).
