Parks and Recreation Labourer III

The City of Melville is seeking a dedicated, hard-working individual to join our Parks and Recreation team! This position plays an important role in maintaining our parks, recreational facilities, and public spaces to ensure they remain safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain City parks, sports fields, playgrounds, and public spaces, including mowing, landscaping, tree trimming, and debris removal.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to recreational facilities, buildings, and equipment.
• Assist with setup and takedown for community events and recreational activities.
• Operate and maintain ice rink facilities, including ice resurfacing, flooding, and monitoring ice conditions.
• Assist with snow removal, seasonal maintenance, cleaning, and equipment transportation.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and equipment operation.
• Ice rink maintenance experience is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
• Clean criminal record check.
