Maintenance Manager

McClure Place Association is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, security, and efficient operation of our facilities. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for facility upkeep, preventative maintenance, staff coordination, contractor management, project management, and supporting a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily maintenance, safety, security, and facility operations. Conduct regular facility inspections and monitor mechanical and building systems. Plan and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and documentation.

Supervise, train, and support hands-on maintenance staff and seasonal groundskeepers. Manage projects by coordinating contractors, obtaining quotes, and overseeing external maintenance projects. Monitor building systems, including boilers, pumps, ventilation, filters, and the Building Automation System. Coordinate fire prevention plans, procedures, and training. Manage maintenance supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently.

Participate in annual budget planning and ongoing maintenance planning. Participate in an on-call rotation

Research equipment, parts, and maintenance solutions as needed.

Maintain positive working relationships with residents, staff, contractors, and McClure United Church.

Qualifications

Graduate of a recognized maintenance program or three years of related experience. Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or building operations.

Supervisory experience. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and a courteous, professional approach. Experience working with seniors is an asset. Project management experience is an asset. Ability to work independently and respond flexibly to changing priorities.
