Kitchen Helper

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and caring Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen and dining operations in our facility. The primary duties include washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and dining areas, assisting with meal service, and supporting residents during mealtimes.

We are specifically looking for candidates who are available to work evenings and weekends. Available shifts include 7 AM to 1 PM & 4 PM to 7 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, and food service areas.
• Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.
• Assist with serving meals and beverages to residents.
• Assist residents during mealtimes as directed by care staff.
• Collect and clear dishes and trays after meals.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen and dining areas.
• Dispose of garbage and food waste properly.
• Assist with organizing and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and care staff and follow instructions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Evening and weekend availability required.
• Availability for shifts between 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• Experience working with seniors or in a care facility is an asset.
• Food Handler Certification (Food Safe, Safe Check, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, dependable, patient, and respectful when interacting with residents.
