APEGS is the self-regulatory body that licenses and regulates over 17,000 engineers and geoscientists and 1,400 companies that practice in Saskatchewan. APEGS operates primarily as an in-office work environment in Regina, SK. However, this position allows for a hybrid office/remote arrangement due to the nature of the work. This position is permanent full time, 8:00am to 5:00pm

With leadership support from the Director of Compliance, Investigation and Enforcement, the Investigator leads investigations related to complaints, compliance, and enforcement matters under The Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act, 1997 (the Act), APEGS bylaws, and policies. The role investigates allegations of professional misconduct or incompetence involving APEGS members and certificate holders, as well as title misuse and unlicensed practice matters involving non-members. The Investigator provides expert advice and support to the Investigation Committee, the decision-making body for complaints, and offers guidance to members of the public engaged in the complaint process.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of Investigative Experience (law firm, legal department, law enforcement, regulatory body, or equivalent).

Experience in relevant disciplines such as law, criminology, or business administration is an asset.

Demonstrated experience in

• Conducting complex investigations and making evidence-based recommendations with impartiality, discretion, and procedural fairness; and
• Presenting information and supporting Boards or Committees in regulatory processes.
