Touchwood Child and Family Services Inc. is seeking an Intake and Investigations Worker. This position reports directly to the Intake and Investigations Supervisor.
The Intake and Investigations Worker responds to allegations of child maltreatment using Structured Decision Making (SDM). The worker collaborates with the Intake and Investigations Supervisor, Program Supervisors, Child and Family Services Workers, and appropriate authorities to coordinate investigations. Responsibilities include overseeing and approving child protection investigations, observing in-person police interviews, assessing facts that may require placing a child or children in a place of safety, completing intake processes, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with Touchwood Child and Family Services Inc. policies, procedures, and protocols, including the Provincial Child Abuse Protocol. Other duties may include preparing court documents and attending court proceedings.
Demonstrated knowledge of child welfare legislation, policies, and provincial protocols, including Structured Decision Making (SDM).
Experience conducting risk and safety assessments and working with children, families, and community partners.
Ability to collaborate effectively with law enforcement, legal professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and court documents.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Three to five years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree in social work or a related human services field.
Successful completion of a criminal record check, vulnerable sector check
