Housing Program Manager

Montreal Lake Cree Nation is seeking a qualified, organized, and motivated Housing Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Housing Department and ensure effective delivery of housing services to the community. The successful candidate will provide leadership in housing administration, property maintenance, renovations, capital projects, and long-term housing planning to support safe, sustainable, and well-maintained homes for community members.

The Housing Program Manager will coordinate housing applications, allocations, tenant relations, occupancy agreements, and housing records. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, repairs, inspections, renovations, and construction projects; coordinating contractors; monitoring budgets and expenditures; preparing reports; and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, funding agreements, and reporting requirements. The Manager will work collaboratively with leadership, staff, tenants, contractors, and funding partners to address housing needs, resolve concerns, and improve housing services. The position also involves developing procedures, monitoring program performance, and supporting strategic housing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have education, training, or experience in housing management, property management, business administration, project management, or a related field. Previous supervisory or program management experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and handle confidential information. Knowledge of First Nations housing programs, funding arrangements, and community housing needs will be considered an asset. Proficiency in computer applications, budgeting, and reporting is also desirable.
