About this role
Greet customers entering the establishment and provide excellent, friendly customer service.
Operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system to calculate total payments received for fuel, liquor, tobacco, and convenience items.
Receive and process payments by cash, credit card, or debit card, and provide accurate change and receipts to customers.
Strictly adhere to provincial regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products by checking customer IDs for liquor and tobacco purchases.
Authorize fuel pumps and monitor the fuel station area for safety and proper operation.
Weigh produce and bulk goods, scan items, and ensure that prices and quantities are accurate.
Wrap, bag, or package merchandise for customers.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, empty garbage bins, and sanitize countertops.
Assist with stocking shelves in the convenience and liquor sections during quiet periods and ensure items are front-faced.
Calculate total shift payments received and reconcile with total sales at the end of the shift.
