Based in North Battleford, SK, this hybrid role combines sourcing strategy, negotiation, market intelligence, and relationship management. This is a market-facing opportunity for someone who understands how grain moves from farm gate to customer.

Responsibilities

Develop sourcing relationships with producers, suppliers, brokers, elevators, and processors

Negotiate purchases of lentils, peas, chickpeas, and other commodities

Maintain procurement records including pricing, grades, inventory, volumes, and contracts

Source grain to meet domestic and international customer requirements

Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules

Prepare daily bid/offer summaries

Monitor crop conditions, harvest progress, and market trends

Qualifications

Degree in Ag-Business or related field preferred

2+ years of grain procurement, commodity trading, or agricultural sourcing experience

Established network within the grower, elevator, or ag-commodity market

Experience with grain contracts, purchasing platforms, and inventory systems

Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills

Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and reporting systems

Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities

Willing to travel regionally and occasionally internationally (less than 10%)
