Underground Electrical Engineer | Colonsay, SK
The Mosaic Company, a global leader in phosphate and potash production, is seeking an Underground Electrical Engineer to support safe, reliable, and efficient underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead underground electrical capital projects from planning through installation.
Provide electrical engineering, automation, controls, and communications support.
Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical infrastructure from 600V to 13.8kV, including protection and control systems.
Coordinate power system studies and maintain system models.
Identify reliability improvement opportunities through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, PM/PdM optimization, and asset management initiatives.
Support maintenance planning, audits, inspections, permitting, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor oversight.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to improve asset performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGS.
Engineer III: 4+ years of related experience.
Senior Engineer: 8+ years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
Knowledge of power systems, high-voltage equipment, protection and coordination, reliability practices, and industrial control systems.
Experience with PLCs, DCS/DeltaV, SCADA, CMMS, and power system modeling software is preferred.
Underground mining, instrumentation, project management, and reliability certification experience are assets.
