Director of Finance

The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) was founded in 1975, on the recommendation of a federal commission on farm machinery advocating for the creation of a central agency for testing and evaluating farm machinery in Canada. PAMIs mandate has evolved to include researching, designing, building and testing technology in the agriculture, mining and transportation industries. PAMI does not retain intellectual property rather it supports the IP development of its clients and collaborates in technology creation.

The Opportunity

This role is a key leader of the senior leadership team that reports directly to the President/CEO. The Director, Finance is responsible for the organizations overall financial and administration processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

The following are the general responsibilities of this position:

Oversee accounting and payroll functions

Responsible for cashflow management

Manage budget of overall organization with the CEO

Provide direction to PAMIs Information Technologies (IT) service

Participate and represent the Business Enablement team in annual priorities and budget planning activities

Provide coaching, guidance, direction, and leadership to the Business Enablement team

Lead the organizations continuous improvement efforts regarding corporate policies and procedures

Oversee the completion of and deliver the Company's monthly and year end financials

Lead the annual audit

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Specialized training  GAAP, PSAB, accounting programs, etc.

General knowledge  MS Office, operations, supervisory skills

Experienced and well-respected people manager

Excellent organizational and presentation skills

Credentials and Experience

University undergraduate degree with appropriate accounting or finance designation with 5+ years experience
