CWB Certified Welder

CWB Certified Welder / Fabricator  Varo Builds Inc. (Moose Jaw, SK) Full-time, permanent | MondayFriday, day shift $34 to $42 per hour depending on experience and certification.

Varo Builds manufactures fully finished floor, wall, and roof assemblies for commercial and light industrial buildings  a woodless panel system built around light gauge steel, EPS insulation, and FRP. We're hiring a welder/fabricator to build the structural steel that everything else gets built onto: roof trusses, wall panel frames, and custom one-off work.

Varo is a CWB-certified fabricator under CSA W47.1. You'll be welding to approved procedures on structural assemblies that carry an engineer's stamp  inspected, documented work. If you take pride in doing it right and having the paperwork to prove it, you'll fit here.

What you'll do

Set up, square, and maintain welding jigs and fixtures for repeat production runs

Fabricate and weld light gauge steel roof trusses and wall panel frames to shop drawings and engineered specifications

Work to approved WPS/WPDS and pass in-process and CWB audit inspection

Control distortion and hold dimensional tolerance across long assemblies  panels run up 24 to 32 feet

Build custom and prototype assemblies as we develop new products

Interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, and engineered detail independently

Help improve jig and fixture design as production scales

What you bring

CWB welder qualification under CSA W47.1  current, or previously held. We're a certified shop, so we'll test and qualify you under our certification

Journeyperson welder certification an asset

Experience welding light gauge material and controlling distortion on long assemblies  this matters more here than heavy plate work

Fabrication and layout ability  squaring, fitting, and building jigs, not just running bead
