About this role
EGELC operates with two co-equal Centre Directors, one at each site (Cabri and Abbey), who work collaboratively and report to the Board. Each Director leads their centres daily operations while sharing organization-wide leadership. This is a hands-on role: Directors work on-site, participate directly in childcare, and support staff as needed. Applicants should indicate their preferred site.
Responsibilities include leading play-based, child-led programming aligned with Saskatchewans Play and Exploration guide; recruiting, mentoring, scheduling, and supervising staff; maintaining ratios and working in ratio as needed; ensuring compliance with The Child Care Act, 2014, The Child Care Regulations, 2015, licensing requirements, and EGELC policies; managing enrolment, records, purchasing, payroll, budgeting, and Board reporting; coordinating menus, supplies, fundraising, and grants; building strong family and community relationships; and partnering with the other Director on hiring, performance management, discipline, policy, and organization-wide decisions.
ECE Level III Certification is required under The Child Care Regulations, 2015. Candidates holding ECE Level I or II certification, or a related degree such as education, psychology, or child development, who are willing to work toward ECE III are encouraged to apply; EGELC supports motivated candidates in advancing their qualifications.
Applicants must have current First Aid/CPR, a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a valid Saskatchewan drivers licence, and reliable transportation. Food Safe certification, or willingness to obtain, is required. Childcare or leadership experience is an asset; no minimum years required. Knowledge of Saskatchewan childcare regulations, budgeting, and Wage Enhancement Grant administration is an asset.
