The Department of Families is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the Case Manager position in Winnipeg. Case Manager positions in this branch are used for specialized work as Residential Coordinators, Protection Investigators and/or Residential Care Licensing Case Managers.

Duties

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a social services position within the Community Services and Supports Division of the Department of Families. The Residential Services Coordinator in this position provides case and resource management services to agencies and service providers who are delivering services to eligible program recipients. The incumbent is expected to work as a member of an established service delivery team and use sound independent judgement. The incumbent uses the professional application of social work theory and methods to deliver discipline-based services and intervention strategies to agencies and service providers through the following steps of the case management process: referral and intake; crisis and/or protection services; assessment (including risk assessment); case planning, counselling and support services provision, including financial management; service monitoring and evaluation; service termination.

Qualifications

Essential

Post secondary degree in social sciences (preferably BSW).

Case Management Experience (including counselling, performing assessments, planning, risk assessment, crisis/protective services and service coordination) in a social service setting.

Experience in crisis management and assessment of high risk situations/supports required.

Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to establish working relationships with community partners.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a complex work environment with high volume caseloads and competing demands.

Effective verbal communication skills.

Effective written communication skills.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training modules to community partners.

Desired

Knowledge of service budgets and funding guidelines.

Knowledge of the Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act.
