Duties

Under the supervision of the Airport Manager, the Building Service Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for passengers, staff, and visitors at the Norway House Airport terminal. The incumbent performs custodial and janitorial services, supports airport operations through routine facility maintenance activities, and helps ensure compliance with health, safety, and airport security standards.

Qualifications

Essential

Experience performing janitorial, custodial, cleaning, or building maintenance duties in a commercial, institutional, industrial, or public facility environment.

Experience following workplace health and safety procedures and practices.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with coworkers, contractors, passengers, and the public.

Ability to identify and report maintenance issues,and safety hazards.

Effective verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize workloads with competing deadlines.

Desired

Ability to change filters on HVAC systems, conduct visual inspections of generators and heating systems, and trouble shooting no power or heat calls

Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 25 kilograms
