The Provincial Bargaining and Compensation Office (PBCO) is responsible for providing a disciplined, collaborative, long term approach to public sector bargaining that achieves settlements that are consistent with the government's fiscal goals. PBCO, through its negotiations, support, research, and analysis functions, provides objective data and analysis that helps support Government's interests as employer and as a funder within the broad public service. PBCO supports the development of bargaining directives on behalf of all major public sectors, including Health, Education, Post-Secondary Institutions, and Alberta Public Service/Agencies. PBCO coordinates strategic actions across sectors and helps its employer partners achieve optimal results in line with government and employer objectives.

The Provincial Bargaining and Compensation Office is looking for a Manager, Compensation Research and Analytics to join our high-performing and versatile team. As a subject matter expert in compensation research and analytics, you will provide critical advice, evidence and data to support internal decision making and support our external stakeholders. You will play a critical role in our mission to become the center of excellence for research and data, in support of directive development and collective bargaining, in the broader Alberta public sector.
As the Manager of Compensation Research and Analytics, you will provide expert advice and leadership with respect to the development, improvement and maintenance of a compensation evidence base which will be used to inform bargaining directives as well as support employer partners in bargaining. You will lead a team of talented compensation experts who are responsible for the collection and analysis of compensation data; the production of corresponding analytics and information products; and the provision of objective, subject-matter expert advice covering the broad public sector. You will be supported by, and report to, the Director, Labour Relations Research, Analytics and Compensation.

Qualifications
A post-secondary degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Business or Statistics, supplemented with a minimum of 4 years related experience in research or compensation and analytic functions is required.
Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
The following are considered assets for this position:
Development of a compensation and data analytics framework
Experience with research design and methodology, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel including large-data manipulation and management, creating data visualizations for presentations and performing statistical analysis
Minimum recruitment standards

This is a full-time permanent position working 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
