Youth Mentor Program Coordinator

Rooted Connections is pleased to offer a flexible and meaningful Youth Mentor Coordinator opportunity within our well-established Youth Mentor Program. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, energetic, and enjoys building relationships.

The Program is relationship-focused, recreational in nature, and strengths-based. We work with youth between the ages of 6-18 who may experience significant isolation & instability in their lives. Youth are referred to the program through the Ministry of Social Services. Our goal is to build positive, supportive relationships that help youth feel connected, valued, & engaged in their community.

About the Position: This is a part-time position of 21-25 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and will vary based on program needs. As Mentors generally work evenings/weekends, some evening/weekend availability will be needed for mentor support & activities. Other weeks may focus on administrative work during regular daytime hours. We will work together with the successful candidate to find a schedule that works well for both the individual & the program. A valid drivers licence & reliable vehicle are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Program Manger
• Coordinate and support approximately 13 - 17 casual Youth Mentors
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, & ongoing mentor support
• Coordinate youth referrals, intakes, & mentor matching
• Maintain communication with youth, guardians, mentors, & Ministry staff
• Support mentors with questions, challenges,& program needs
• Monthly reports, documentation, & program administration
• Support recreational & group activities
• Serve as the primary contact for Youth Mentors

Qualifications

A background in Social Work, Human Services, Youth Work, or a related field.
