About this role
The Wicihitowin Outreach Team Member provides proactive, relationship-based and trauma-informed outreach and practical support to community members throughout Regina.
Wicihitowin means helping and supporting one another in Cree. The team is grounded in relationship, reciprocity, respect, belonging and the belief that people deserve to be met where they are and supported without judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct mobile outreach throughout Regina, including encampments, public spaces and areas identified as priorities.
Build consistent, respectful and trusting relationships with community members.
Complete wellness checks and respond to assigned calls for service.
Engage individuals using trauma-informed, person-centred and non-judgmental approaches.
Identify immediate needs and work with individuals to determine appropriate next steps.
Provide practical assistance and connection to resources.
Distribute essential supplies, including food, water, clothing, hygiene and harm-reduction supplies as available.
Support individuals in accessing housing, emergency shelter, healthcare, mental-health services, addictions supports, income assistance, identification, food security, cultural supports and other community resources.
Assist with applications, forms, appointments, referrals and service navigation.
Advocate alongside community members when appropriate.
Connect individuals with NYFC programs and external community services.
Provide transportation to urgent services, shelter, healthcare appointments, housing opportunities and other essential supports when appropriate.
Follow up with individuals when required to support continuity of care.
Requirements
Compensation Details
$20-$22 per hour depending on education and experience
