Welder/Fitter

infraMOD is currently looking for quality driven, experienced Welders/Fitters to join our team in Oxbow, SK. Successful candidates for these positions must be conscientious, capable of interpreting all types of drawings, able to weld all types of work using all positions and qualify for all required CWB tickets with minimum supervision and promote a safe work environment.

Reporting to the Lead Hand, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Read documents, computer screens, blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Set-up and operation of FCAW and MCAW welding equipment
• Set-up and operation of all position welds
• Air carbon arc gouging, oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting.
• Safe operation of hand tools such as angle grinders, files, hammers, etc.

Critical Skills

• Certified in all FCAW/MCAW 3 positions (flat, horizontal, vertical)
• Uses plasma and oxy-fuel torches for safe cutting with minimal grinding, preps parts using grinder and saw
• Fits complex assemblies safely and independently
• Reads and interprets advanced blueprints, welding symbols, and weld procedures
• Performs CJPs
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Physical abilities (stamina, excellent hand-eye coordination, steady hands, the ability to stand for long periods of time, capable of bending and twisting to assemble or disassemble, safe lifting practices)
• The ability to interpret sketches to calculate dimensions to weld.
• The ability to notice if parts are corroded, cracked or otherwise damaged.
