Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the operation, maintenance, and improvement of water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Plan, coordinate, and prioritize departmental work assignments, capital projects, and contracted services.
Develop and manage operating budgets, capital budgets, long-term infrastructure plans, and maintenance programs.
Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate staff while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, COR requirements, and departmental safety programs.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and safe operating practices related to water and wastewater operations.
Monitor infrastructure assets and maintain accurate records through asset management and GIS systems.
Investigate and respond to water and sewer service concerns, public inquiries, and customer complaints.
Prepare reports, tender documents, budget information, and recommendations for senior management and City Council.
Required Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Valid Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board Class III Water Distribution Certificate and Class III Wastewater Collection Certificate, or the ability to obtain and maintain these certifications.
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Diploma (A.Sc.T.) or Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
Five (5) or more years of progressive management and supervisory experience in municipal utilities, public works, or a related field.
Experience with infrastructure planning, project management, budgeting, and staff leadership.
Experience working with asset management and GIS systems.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week).
Salary range:$103,174 to $125,833 per year.
