Position Overview
The City of Prince Albert invites applications seasonal positions of Water/Sewer Labourer (Collection/Distribution) in the Public Works Department.
This role is responsible for performing work involving the construction, maintenance and repair operations related to the wastewater collection and water distribution systems.
Required Qualifications
Entry Level - Grade 12, Driver's License
Level I Within the first 6 months must write and pass Class I Certification in Water Distribution Exam, Equipment Operator certification, Firemans Certification or Hoisting and Rigging Certification.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a variety of labouring tasks in Collection/Distribution construction, maintenance and repair operations.
Uses equipment and material for thawing and freezing distribution systems.
Uses equipment and material in flushing and cleaning collection systems.
Assist in street isolation during construction and maintenance operations.
Performs distribution system flushing operations.
Assist in isolation and repair of water main breaks.
Maintain log of service and maintenance work.
Assist in the set up of batter boards.
Ability to operate all types of hydrants.
Ability to deal effectively with the general public and co-workers.
Ability to work with concrete.
