Cumberland Villas is seeking a reliable and friendly individual to join our team as a full-time Transit Driver/Building Support employee.
Monday to Friday
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will provide safe and dependable transportation for residents of Cumberland Villas. As transit needs vary throughout the day, the employee will assist with light maintenance and general building-support duties when not providing transportation.
Responsibilities
Safely transport residents to appointments, shopping and other local destinations
Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed
Maintain a friendly, patient and professional manner with residents
Keep the transit vehicle clean, organized and ready for use
Complete basic vehicle safety checks and report maintenance concerns
Complete light maintenance duties and minor repairs throughout the building
Assist with seasonal outdoor duties and upkeep
Perform other duties as assigned during quieter transit periods
Qualifications
Valid drivers licence and a clean driving record
Basic maintenance skills and the ability to complete minor repairs
Responsible, dependable and punctual
Comfortable working with seniors
Friendly and professional communication skills
Able to work independently and manage changing priorities
Physically capable of completing light maintenance, cleaning and lifting duties
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check will be required
