Organization Overview
Ignite Adult Learning Corporation is an education and training facility for adults (ages 16+) who haven't finished their high school education. Roughly 60-70% of our students are Indigenous and the others typically fall into one or more marginalized groups (e.g., newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ2A+ individuals, etc.). Our students work toward an Adult 12 diploma and participate in a variety of other programming. We have a positive and supportive work environment.
Position Description
The teacher will report to the Executive Director and is responsible for:
- Designing and delivering engaging and trauma-informed in-person lessons for Workplace & Apprenticeship Math 20 and Indigenous Studies 30.
- Reviewing student work and providing feedback.
- Supporting students in completing their optional classes.
- Tracking student progress.
- Creating a safe, respectful, and fun classroom environment.
- Identifying students who require additional support or interventions.
- Working collaboratively within a small, supportive, and innovative team.
- Additioal duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education and at least 2 years of classroom teaching experience.
- Highly skilled in trauma-informed teaching and building relationships with students
- Experience teaching math at a grade 6 level or above.
- Experience working with struggling students with multiple barriers.
- Strong classroom management skills.
Position Details
- Full-time, year-round position at 904 Victoria Avenue in Regina.
- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:00 to 4:00 with some flexibility.
- Holiday time: Roughly 6 weeks per year
- Salary range: $66,560.00 - $74,880.00 plus benefits.
- Preferred start date: Sept 21, 2026. Posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
