About this role
The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) was founded in 1975, on the recommendation of a federal commission on farm machinery advocating for the creation of a central agency for testing and evaluating farm machinery in Canada. PAMIs mandate has evolved to include researching, designing, building and testing technology in the agriculture, mining and transportation industries. PAMI does not retain intellectual property rather it supports the IP development of its clients and collaborates in technology creation.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position supports the organizations accounting, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and financial systems functions while helping drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Participates in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, banking, and internal control processes
Coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting working papers
Supports management reporting, project reporting, and the preparation of key & the preparation of key financials
Assists with annual internal and external audits
Provides accounting system support, financial analysis, and reporting assistance to staff and project managers
Supports compliance reporting and statistical reports
Education/Experience
Commerce or Administration degree with specialization in Accounting or Finance
Public Sector Accounting and charity tax filing experience is an asset
CPA designation preferred
Min. 5 years experience within a similar role
Experience with project accounting, audit preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial systems is considered an asset
