Role Overview

Goose Lake School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Nakawwin Language Teacher to foster an inclusive learning environment and strengthen language education initiatives. The successful candidate will develop daily language schedules, unit plans, and assessments to support student progress and effective instruction.

Responsibilities

Plan and teach Nakawwin language lessons in classrooms, throughout the school, and at community events.

Research and develop language-learning materials as needed.

Participate in and lead Professional Development opportunities and collaborate with language teachers when appropriate.

Coordinate schedules for language classes and promote collaboration across subjects.

Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and adjust lesson plans to meet student needs.

Report to the Principal and collaborate with staff to support the language program.

Coordinate and lead language events, workshops, and morning prayers.

Promote an inclusive, culturally grounded, and engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in language program coordination or education preferred.

Proven ability to develop language materials and follow curriculum and instructional strategies.

Proven ability to teach and engage students in language learning.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience working with diverse student populations.

Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
