Public Works Operator

Role Overview

The RM of Edenwold No. 158 is seeking a permanent full-time Public Works Operator. Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Public Works and/or Rural Lead Operator, this position supports the maintenance of municipal roads, infrastructure and equipment. The successful candidate must be able to safely operate heavy equipment and work independently or as part of a team in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform rural road maintenance, light construction and snow removal.

Safely operate tandem and semi gravel trucks, motor graders, tractors and other municipal equipment.

Complete daily equipment inspections, maintenance and operational checks.

Maintain clean, safe and organized equipment, facilities and work areas.

Follow municipal safety procedures and established work practices.

Assist with the maintenance of municipal infrastructure and community assets.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Valid Saskatchewan drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract.

Class 3A licence required; Class 1A preferred.

Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.

Knowledge of equipment and job site safety.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Strong communication skills, mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Power Mobile Equipment and First Aid/CPR certifications are assets.

Carpentry, welding, electrical or mechanical skills are also considered assets.
