Public Works Employee

Town of WATSON is currently seeking applications for the position of Public Works Employee.

Under the direction of the Public Works Supervisor, the Public Works Employee will assist with the daily operations of the public works department.

The successful candidate will assist with a variety of municipal public works duties, which may include:

• Operation and maintenance of municipal equipment, vehicles, and tools
• Maintenance of streets, lanes, sidewalks, parks, green spaces, and other municipal property
• Snow removal, sanding, ice control, and other winter maintenance
• Water and sewer system maintenance and related municipal infrastructure work
• Garbage and waste-related duties as required
• General repairs, construction, grounds maintenance, and seasonal maintenance
• Responding to public works emergencies and after-hours call-outs when required
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Town

Work Schedule is Monday  Friday 8 AM to 5 PM

Some evening and weekend work may be required during emergencies, severe weather events, or other operational situations.

Required Qualifications

• Have a strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Have the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Have experience operating municipal, construction, or maintenance equipment; experience is considered an asset
• Have basic mechanical and maintenance skills; experience with water and sewer systems is an asset
• Be committed to workplace safety and following safe work practices
• Be willing and available to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours
