About this role
Planner I responsible for reviewing and processing development applications, including comprehensive development proposals, permits, rezonings, subdivisions, and OCP/bylaw amendments. Provides planning advice and support related to policy reviews, enforcement, business licensing, and economic development. Conducts research and analysis, prepares reports and presentations for Council and stakeholders, drafts servicing and development agreements, and supports public engagement activities. Collaborates with regional partners, prepares planning communications and mapping products, conducts site inspections, assists with compliance and enforcement activities, and provides administrative support. Delivers professional customer service while working with developers, landowners, residents, government agencies, and internal staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field (CIP-accredited preferred); eligible for or holding CIP/SPPI membership; minimum one year of planning experience, preferably in a municipal environment. Strong communication, customer service, analytical, research, and report-writing skills. Experience with GIS, mapping, database applications, and Microsoft Office; Adobe InDesign and Photoshop are assets. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate an interest in rural and urban planning. Valid Saskatchewan driver's licence.
