Part-Time Evening Program Staff

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicants will

Assist with the delivery of evening programs, activities and special events;

Prepare program spaces, equipment and materials;

Welcome participants and provide assistance as needed;

Help maintain a safe, respectful, positive and inclusive environment;

Assist with recreational, cultural, educational and creative activities;

Encourage positive social interaction and participant engagement;

Prepare and serve snacks or refreshments when required;

Complete program set-up and clean-up duties;

Maintain attendance sheets and other basic program records;

Monitor program spaces and help ensure participant safety;

Work collaboratively with other Kikinahk Friendship Centre staff; and

Perform other program-related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for individuals who

Are available to work 1520 hours per week during evening hours, Monday to Friday;

Are dependable, responsible and punctual;

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills;

Work well as part of a team;

Are comfortable working with children, youth, families and community members;

Have a positive, respectful and welcoming attitude;

Are willing to assist with a variety of programs and activities; and

Have an interest in community-based, recreational and cultural programming.

Previous experience working in recreation, community programming, youth programming or a related area would be considered an asset.

Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
