Overview
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Overnight Support Worker to provide supervision and support to participants in our addiction recovery program.
This role focuses on maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment throughout the night while promoting dignity, accountability, and recovery.
Duties
Provide overnight supervision and support to participants.
Complete regular safety and wellness checks.
Maintain a calm, safe, respectful, and substance-free environment.
Respond to participant concerns, conflict, distress, or emergencies appropriately.
Support participants using a trauma-informed and non-judgmental approach.
Encourage participants to follow program expectations, routines, and boundaries.
Complete shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Complete light cleaning and basic housekeeping duties.
Communicate important information to incoming staff at shift change.
Qualifications
Experience in addiction services, mental health, residential care, community support, or social services is preferred.
Understanding of substance use, recovery, trauma, and mental health.
Strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and remain calm in challenging situations.
Reliable, punctual, and able to remain alert throughout overnight shifts.
First Aid/CPR and Naloxone training are considered assets.
Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.
We are looking for someone who can balance compassion, accountability, safety, and professional boundaries while treating every participant with dignity and respect.
Compensation Details
$18 - $22
