Job Description: With reporting responsibility to the Manager, LTC Education Services, the Program Development Educator (PDE) supports the development of the P.I.E.C.E.S. education program and serves as the champion and resource support for the P.I.E.C.E.S. program for all five former health regions across south Saskatchewan (Regina QuAppelle Health Region, Five Hills Health Region, Cypress Health Region, Sun Country Health Region and Sunrise Health Region. The acronym P.I.E.C.E.S. represents a holistic approach to assessing all aspects of a client, i.e: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Capabilities, Environment, and Social.
The incumbent is accountable for planning, implementing and evaluating P.I.E.C.E.S. as a model of care across the five Health Authorities and has Program responsibility for sustaining and growing the program to support current and future needs and building capacity by embedding the use of the P.I.E.C.E.S. approach in the delivery of care. This includes fulfilling the role of primary coach and mentor to support and sustain the spread of P.I.E.C.E.S. across the continuum of care and to ensure consistency, continuity and standard practice. The PDE works collaboratively with other leaders and educators across southern Saskatchewan to provide education services consistent with the overall P.I.E.C.E.S. program direction.
