Metallurgy Supervisor (McClean Lake)

What youll accomplish

• Provide supervision of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Technicians, and take ownership of the Lab
• Provide leadership to the team, including performance feedback on tasks and objectives
• Provide technical support/context to all Mill departments
• Assist with planning, scheduling and coordination of personnel and resources
• Fill in as point of contact when Technical Superintendent is not on site
• Help co-ordinate activities, information, materials or resources to meet deadlines
• Ensure cross-checks are completed as related to routine reporting
• Review reports and trends of mill performance and reagent consumption
• Attend operational and leadership meetings
• Provide input to the budgeting process, including identification of infrastructure and training
• Actively demonstrate a commitment to Safety and Environmental stewardship

Qualifications and skills

• A degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and eligible for registration as a P. Eng with APEGS
• 8+ years experience, preferably within both operational and engineering environments
• Proficient in the conventional unit processes in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy
• Experience in project management will be an asset
• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of the process data system SQL/Access and OSIsoft PI
• Ability to innovate in the areas of uranium processing with a focus on plant efficiency, capital and operating cost optimization and compliance to environmental regulations
• Working knowledge of risk assessment (HAZID/HAZOP) will be an asset

Work Location & Schedule

• McClean Lake site
• 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
• Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
