About this role
This is a contract position responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the housing authority units in Hudson Bay, Sask. The maintenance contractor receives general direction from the manager and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
The successful contractor is to provide or subcontract the following services:
Routine minor janitorial services.
Routine grounds maintenance, including snow removal and lawn care.
Minor maintenance of common areas and rental units includingrepairs and/or replacements.
Accessibility to Housing Authority tenants for emergency repairs.
Maintenance of inventories and equipment.
Regular building, unit and vacant unit inspections.
Boiler monitoring and maintenance. lif applicable).
The contractor must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide services cooperatively to individuals and groups of varying backgrounds. A high degree of discretion and confidentiality is required. A basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical and general property maintenance practices as well as the ability to perform manual labor and lifting tasks is required. Contractor to provide all tools, including personal vehicle and cell phone, Housing Authority will provide lawn and snow removal equipment.
