Labourer

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the labourer position are extremely varied due to the nature of this position.

Duties of the labour position include

1. General clean-up.
2. Cleaning rail-cars.
3. Assisting Car loaders.
4. Assisting trades people.
5. Filling in for absent shift workers and other bid positions providing qualifications are met.
6. Assisting with all harvest related activities.
7. Operating various mobile equipment.
8. Perform all other tasks as directed by the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
9. Assure all work is performed safely
10. Be familiar with and follow all applicable sections of the ISO manual.
11. Ensure that good housekeeping standards are followed.
12. Fill out Inspection log books before operating equipment

Requirements

• Must have valid class 5 drivers license
• Must have Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent
• Required to either have or achieve within the probationary period a  fireman's boiler certificate on your own time.

Note this is not a camp job. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm in Chaplin, Saskatchewan with the possibility of some overtime. There is also the possibility of shift work that is 12 hours 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am once training has been completed.
