About this role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and modifying equipment used in disposal and landscaping operations, ensuring all machinery is safe, efficient, and ready for daily use.
Responsibilities & Skills
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment including trucks, trailers, hydraulics, engines, and motors
Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing on disposal and landscaping equipment
Repair and service hydraulic systems and mechanical components
Modify and customize equipment to meet operational needs, including installing specialized attachments
Conduct safety inspections to ensure equipment meets quality and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections
Work closely with operations teams to identify equipment issues and minimize downtime
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Properly use, maintain, and store tools and shop equipment
Requirements
Journeyman Mechanic certification
3 to 5 years of related experience
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Experience with heavy equipment, trucks, or hydraulic systems is an asset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
Have a drivers license and vehicle to arrive at work
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time, long-term position
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday
Wage: $25 to $34 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
Overtime opportunities available
3 weeks annual vacation
