Reporting to the HR Manager, you will partner with leaders across the organization to provide trusted advice, strengthen leadership capability & support practical people solutions. As a trusted advisor & coach, you will help leaders navigate workplace challenges, resolve issues early & ensure people practices align with organizational values & excellent public service.
About the Role
As HR Consultant, you will provide responsive HR support to leaders across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing HR advice & coaching on employee and workplace matters.
- Supporting performance & attendance management, conflict resolution, investigations, accommodations & employee relations.
- Promoting early intervention & practical problem-solving.
- Partnering on recruitment, onboarding & workforce planning.
- Interpreting & applying collective agreements, employment legislation & HR policies.
- Building collaborative relationships & leadership capability.
- Identifying workplace issues & escalating complex matters.
- Contributing to HR projects, policy development, & organizational initiatives.
What You Bring
Experience & Credentials
- Degree in HR or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
- Min 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Experience applying collective agreements, employment & human rights legislation & HR policies.
- Experience advising managers on employee relations matters.
Workplace investigations, grievance resolution, or collective bargaining experience is an asset.
