Human Resource Manager & Workforce Planner

The HR Manager & Workforce Planner is responsible for leading and administering Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nations human resource functions while supporting long-term workforce development. The position oversees recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR policies, personnel records, compensation reviews, job descriptions, training, and organizational planning.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and performance management.
• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and compliance standards.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on workplace matters and conflict resolution.
• Coordinate staffing, succession planning and organizational growth.
• Identify current and future workforce skill gaps.
• Develop training pathways and employment-readiness initiatives for Nation members.
• Work with Indigenous partners and educational institutions to coordinate training and employment opportunities.

Track training, certifications and employment outcomes.

• Support funding applications, proposals and workforce partnerships.
• Maintain confidential HR records and personnel files.
• Coordinate orientation, professional development and mandatory training.
• Ensure HR and workforce initiatives reflect PRNFN values and community priorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered. Requires 8-13 years of progressive HR experience. Workforce planning, training coordination and Indigenous partnership experience are assets. Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices required. Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, satisfactory abstract, CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check.
