Education Coordinator

PRNFN is seeking an Education Coordinator to coordinate and support education programs and services for Nation members, including Little Peoples Learning Lodge (LPLL), Daycare and Head Start, on- and off-reserve students, Post-Secondary Education, and the SITAG portfolio.

The Education Coordinator will act as a central liaison between students, families, education staff, schools, school divisions, training institutions, community partners, the Education Portfolio Holder, and Chief and Council.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between LPLL, Daycare/Head Start, schools, students, families, and education partners.
• Support elementary, high school, and post-secondary students with approved educational resources and services.
• Assist post-secondary students with applications, funding, registration, documentation, and academic follow-up.
• Coordinate SITAG referrals, participant files, claims, supporting documents, training, and employment-related follow-up.
• Track education, post-secondary, and SITAG budgets, purchases, claims, and expenditures.

Work with Finance on requisitions, coding, receipts, and account information.

• Research and prepare grants and funding applications.
• Track funding agreements, deadlines, eligible expenses, and reporting requirements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual program and financial reports.
• Maintain organized and confidential student, program, and financial records.
• Organize education meetings, agendas, minutes, reports, and follow-up items.
• Provide updates and recommendations to the Education Portfolio Holder.

Qualifications

Satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check) and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Post-secondary education in Education, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Minimum 23 years related experience.

Knowledge of First Nations education and student supports is an asset.
