About this role
The George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations. The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the organizations vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective to operate. This role manages vehicle maintenance, scheduling, drivers, fuel usage, inspections, documentation, and fleet-related budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the companys vehicles.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and servicing.
Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, mileage, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
Ensure all vehicles comply with applicable safety, licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain accurate vehicle service records.
Coordinate vehicle assignments, replacements, registrations, and licensing.
Supervise, train, and support drivers and ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and maintenance issues and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
Monitor fuel usage and identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses.
Maintain accurate fleet records, reports, and documentation.
Work with vendors, repair shops, dealerships, insurance providers, and other service providers.
Develop and manage fleet budgets and recommend cost-saving measures.
Track vehicle lifecycle and make recommendations for purchasing, leasing, or disposing of vehicles.
Implement and monitor fleet safety programs and best practices.
