About this role
The Director of Operations serves as the chief visionary and strategic leader of the George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) community. This role involves providing overall direction and leadership to ensure the effective governance and management of the community. The Director of Operation collaborates closely with the Chief and Council to develop and implement long-term strategic plans that align with the George Gordon First Nations goals and cultural values. Additionally, the Director of Operations represents George Gordon First Nation in external affairs, building partnerships and advocating for the communitys interests at various levels of government and with external organizations.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business management, Public Administration, Indigenous Studies, or related experience. Masters degree preferred.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a First Nation or Indigenous organization.
Strong understanding of First Nation governance, culture, and traditions.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Strong financial acumen.
Demonstrated the ability to deal with and balance competing priorities among a broad range of stakeholders and at times, working in a high-stress environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
