Financial Analyst (Contract)

The Financial Analyst (Contract) position will be organized, analytical, and have specific knowledge of accounting policies and principles. You must be an excellent communicator who is able to understand and apply complex processes, with demonstrated attention to detail and advanced Excel skills.

NOTE: the preferred work location for this position is Regina, SK; however, the work location may be considered in Alberta, Manitoba or Ontario, and will also be dependent on the location of the successful candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics.

Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.

Provide insights on cost reduction and revenue optimization.

Prepare applicable Journal Entries

Assist in developing budgets and financial projections.

Monitor financial performance against budgets.

Recommend adjustments based on financial trends.

Develop financial models to assess business scenarios.

Use Excel and SAP financial software for data analysis.

Identify key drivers of financial performance.

Support management with data-driven decision-making.

Provide recommendations for investment and risk mitigation.

Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.

Assist in internal audits and risk assessments.

Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Commerce, majoring in Finance or Accounting

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and regulations with demonstrated analytical analysis in financial statements

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Minimum two (2) years of practical training and work experience.

Pursuing CPA designation would be an asset
