Early Childhood Educator

Early Childhood Educator (ECE Level 1, 2 or 3)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time & Casual

Centre Hours: 7:30 AM5:30 PM

Reports To: Childcare Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Provide attentive supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and follow Saskatchewan childcare legislation, regulations and centre policies.

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based and emergent programming.

Support childrens social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

Complete observations, documentation and developmental records.

Use positive behaviour guidance strategies and promote self-regulation and social development.

Support inclusive programming and individual developmental needs.

Follow health, hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and allergy procedures.

Maintain a clean, safe and engaging classroom environment.

Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and team members.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide support across classrooms as required.

Participate in team meetings, centre events and professional development.

Complete attendance, incident and other required records.

Perform opening/closing and other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ECE Level 1, 2 or 3 certification recognized in Saskatchewan, or equivalent.

Current First Aid/CPR certification.

Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

Knowledge of child development and early learning practices.

Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Reliable, flexible, adaptable and committed to providing quality care.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an active childcare environment and includes regular standing, walking, bending and lifting. Educators participate in outdoor programming in varying weather conditions.
